Mrs Sonawane called upon Uplift’s 24×7 helpline

Mrs Jyoti Sonawane, a 57 year old Uplift member, from Manipada area, Santacruz, had been diagnosed with cataract in both the eyes. She had called the UPLIFT 24×7 helpline to get information about hospitals and cataract surgeries. She was directed to Ramkishan hospital in Khar, Mumbai for her surgery. She spent around INR 14,000 (USD 208) for the surgery and medications. Her claim was passed and she received a cheque of INR 5,000 (USD 74) and was briefed that she could obtain discounted medicines and eye drops from the pharmacy.
