Mrs Sadhana Mistry’s daughter receives the right medical care

Mrs Sadhana Mistry’s 20 year old daughter Shubhangi was admitted in V.N Desai hospital due to severe vomiting, diarrhea and high fever. She was diagnosed with a stomach infection. Their total expenditure was INR 6,000 (USD 89). She received her claim cheque for INR 5,000 (USD 74).

Mrs Mistry narrates her experience, “Shubhangi could not get up from the bed or walk without help, she had become extremely weak from the high fever (104 degrees F), vomiting and diarrhoea. She had been taking medicines from a local GP for almost a week but she was not getting any better, just worse. I was perturbed, I knew I had to take her to a hospital, but I was not sure which one would fit our budget.
