Claim payment enabled widow to fund childrens’ education

Association/company: ASKI-MBA
Country: The Philippines

Mr Ronaldo Joson of San Miguel, Bulacan, was an active member of ASKI MBA for almost four years. On the evening of 6 August 2016, he unexpectedly suffered a heart attack and later died. His wife, Mrs Joson (pictured), was understandably shocked. On 10 August 2016, Mrs Joson received PHP 120,000 (approximately USD 2,500) from her late husband’s life insurance policy, which has enabled her to continue his business and fund the education of her two children; “I am very grateful to ASKI” she said “because they really help their clients in times of trouble”.

ASKI MBA’s mission is to ensure the security of members by providing comprehensive microinsurance coverage. As of 31 December 2015, after nine years of operation, ASKI MBA had nearly 150,000 members and covered more than 550,000 dependents over 72 ASKI branches.
